Wind is as important as heat in outdoor sites.In particular, work that is sensitive to changes in wind speed, such as tower cranes, steel frames, curtain walls, and scaffolding, requires constant monitoring of actual field measurements. Ace Development's smart wind vane can transmit wind speed and direction data wirelessly and store it on a server, and can also be considered for connection with the perceived temperature management system.

What we liked was that there was no need to operate heat wave equipment and wind speed equipment completely separately. By checking perceived temperature and wind speed within the same safety management flow, there are fewer screens to check when making morning work plans or when the weather changes suddenly. It was also helpful in practice that the person in charge of work at heights and the safety manager could talk based on the same data.

The most satisfying part was worker guidance and data storage.

The first thing was visibility. By displaying the perceived temperature and action tips on an electronic display, the burden of repeated verbal guidance was reduced. The second is records. With time-specific data remaining, it was easy to check the times when the heat wave was severe and the response flow at the site. The third is scalability. Depending on site conditions, you can consider linking anemometers, warning lights, and external electronic signs, so you are not limited to the initially installed configuration.

However, heat wave response does not end with the installation of equipment. Sensors must be installed to reflect the actual place where workers work, communication status and measurement values ​​must be checked regularly, and water, shade, rest, cooling equipment, and emergency response systems must be operated together. We continue to emphasize the principle that the equipment provides the basis for management and the final action is carried out by people.

Using Ace Development's smart thermometer meant not measuring the temperature one more time, but making measurement, recording, notification, and on-site guidance into one routine.
